It is basically the automatic version of the base spec Fortuner 4×2 MT. Powering the vehicle is the same 3.0L diesel engine that produces 169bhp and 360Nm of torque. Instead of manual gearbox, this engine is paired to a five-speed automatic transmission which channeled the power to rear wheels of the SUV. It is claimed to offer a good combined fuel economy of 12.55kmpl which is slightly on higher side compared to manual version. This model is equipped with several high end comfort and convenience features including automatic climate control with blower for rear occupants and heater, rear parking sensors with camera, tilt and telescopic steering adjustment, vanity mirrors, leather seats, leather wrapped steering wheel, driver height adjustable seats, rear armrest, adjustable head-rests and many more. The automatic Fortuner has airbags for driver and its co-occupant, anti-lock braking system, engine immobilizer, remote central locking, child safety lock, door ajar and seat belt warning as standard safety measures. The vehicle is equipped with lots of small storage spaces in the form of cup holders, door pockets, seat pockets and others. The outside rear view mirrors are electrically adjustable and retractable, and come with integrated turn indicators. It gets rain sensing wipers, headlight washer, rear wiper, automatic headlamps and fog lamps. For occupants’ entertainment and connectivity, the vehicle has an integrated music system with touchscreen display and six speakers. It also provides Bluetooth, USB and AUX-in interface.
